Game No. 1: UTA 6, Louisiana-Monroe 4
Junior first baseman Omar Salinas hit his sixth and seventh home runs of the season in the Mavericks' 6-4 series-opening win against the University of Louisiana-Monroe on Friday at Warhawk Field.
With the Mavericks leading 2-1 in the top of the third inning, Salinas hit a two-run home run to extend the Mavericks' lead to 4-1.
The Warhawks scored a run in the fifth inning and another in the sixth inning to cut into the Mavericks' lead, but another two-run home run from Salinas in the seventh inning gave the Mavericks a 6-3 lead.
