In what can only be described as a marathon, the baseball team (5-9, 0-0) bested the Texas A&M Aggies in an 18 inning 5-1 match.

The Mavericks were held scoreless, but also held their opponents scoreless, for 17 straight innings, until a final effort by a few key players allowed UTA to score five straight runs in the top of the 18th.

Notable performances by the Mavericks included sophomore infielder Zach Cook, with three hits on four at bats, and an RBI, and senior outfielder Omar Salinas with two runs on six at bats and an RBI.
