UTA baseball loses to Wichita State University

The baseball team (4-9) went 0–3 in its series against No. 22 Wichita State University at Eck Stadium over the weekend in Kansas.

Game No. 1: Wichita State 12, UTA 3

In the series opener, Wichita State scored six runs during the fourth inning to take a 9-2 lead heading into the fifth.

Junior infielder Noah Vaughan led the Mavericks at the plate, hitting 2-4 with a double and a triple.

The Mavericks started junior pitcher Ka’ikepono Anderson on the mound. Anderson dropped to 0-1 on the season as he allowed eight runs off 11 hits while striking out two and walking none.
