UTA baseball head coach agrees to four-year contract extension

Baseball head coach Darin Thomas has agreed to a four-year contract extension after his team captured 32 wins in the 2019 season.

Thomas began his tenure at UTA in 2001 and served as an assistant coach until 2007. He was promoted to the head coaching position in 2008 and has led the Mavericks to 30 wins or more in three of the last four seasons.

"I would like to thank President [Vistasp] Karbhari and [athletic director] Jim Baker for the opportunity to continue to lead this program," Thomas said in a press release. "I'm excited about the future of UTA Baseball and I am ready to help this program continue to strive for championships in the Sun Belt Conference.
