Two parks, one legacy: How Texas heat reshaped the Texas Rangers

As a little kid, Dana Collins said the heat at the Texas Rangers games was one of those things that fans were forced to endure.

Nowadays, Irving resident Collins, 42, praises the experience in Globe Life Field, calling it “night and day” compared to The Ballpark in Arlington. While he enjoyed his time at the old ballpark, he said he likes that the new one keeps his family out of the heat.

“It was good for me to kind of suffer through those things,” he said. “But that doesn't mean that I can make that a family experience all the time.
