The charter bus pulled away from State Farm Center, headed south for the 16-hour drive home.
And what would have been a reserved spot for a national championship trophy was just another empty seat on the bus.
But for Morgan Wood and her teammates, it wasn’t only about winning a repeat national title, it was about winning together.
“I didn’t recruit y’all to win a championship. I recruited y’all for us to be a family,” she said.
