When the Lady Mavericks' basketball program was at its lowest, senior forward Allyson Te’o knew there was nowhere to go but up.
She used that faith to buy in from day one and witness the Lady Mavericks rise from the bottom of the Sun Belt Conference to a 19-7 record, ranking second in the standings.
On the boards, Te’o averages 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds per game, but her impact goes beyond numbers.
“Her leadership has been, you know, second to none,” head coach Krista Gerlich said. “Even though she might not always be on the court, the one doing the screens or the shots, or the defense or whatever, she definitely can coach our kids, even from the bench.
