Proposition City of Arlington: Rangers Stadium

It appears a new stadium for the Texas Rangers is coming to Arlington.

With 41 of 137 precincts reporting, 60.1 percent of Arlington voters are for helping fund a new stadium.

Voters will decide whether a new tax will be implemented to fund half of a new Rangers stadium, with an estimated cost at $1 billion.

Arlington City Council unanimously approved an agreement with the team May 24, outlining a public-private partnership for the construction of the new ballpark.

Since the proposition was revealed, two sides rose both for and against a new ballpark.
