The Movin' Mavs went 2-0 against the Hot Wheels on Saturday at the Maverick Activities Center for Parent and Family Weekend.
Game No. 1: Movin’ Mavs 64, Hot Wheels 52
The UTA Movin’ Mavs started the first game strong as junior Fabian Romo opened the scoring for the team. During the first half, Romo was double-teamed in nearly every offensive possession. With eight minutes left to play in the first half, freshman Steven Walgenbach sank a 3-pointer off the assist from Romo. The Mavericks closed out the half with a 12-point lead.
As the second half started, the Hot Wheels opened the scoring with an open jump shot to cut into UTA's lead.
