Movin' Mavs clinch National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championship Tournament

Both the Movin’ Mavs and Lady Movin’ Mavs came into the tournament as number one seeds, but only one claimed the title.

The Movin’ Mavs clinched the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championship Tournament after a 76-52 win over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Saturday at Williams Center.

Sophomore Adryan Powell led the Movin’ Mavs with 22 points and was dubbed player of the game. Freshman Clarence McCarthy-Grogan followed with 13 points and tied Powell for a team-high eight rebounds.

The Lady Movin’ Mavs secured a 68-19 win over the University of Illinois to advanced to the semifinals but fell to the University of Alabama in the championship game Saturday.
