Led by senior Tanner Gore in its season-opener, the men’s golf team finished 11th at the Lone Star Invitational Tuesday in San Antonio, Texas.
The Mavericks’ five-man line-up featured Gore, senior Camilo Avila, sophomore Paul Gonzalez and freshmen Kyle Cox and Caleb Hicks.
Gore finished the event tied for 10th place at 2-over-par 146. Gonzalez followed one stroke behind, tying for 16th place at 3-over-par.
In their first collegiate event, Cox finished tied for 63rd place at 12-over-par and Hicks finished tied for 70th place at 13-over-par. Rounding out the Mavericks, Avila finished tied for 80th place at 20-over-par.
