Despite some improvement on the final day of the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Dallas Monday and Tuesday, the hole was too deep for the men’s golf team to dig out of.
Junior Aaron Guanlao led the Mavericks with a 26th overall finish out of 72 golfers, but as a team, UTA finished 10th place at 29-over par. The only team to finish behind UTA was Southern Methodist University, which posted a 43-over-par score.
Six golfers represented each team and the five lowest scores from each team were recorded, different from the usual five-golfer lineup, which uses the top four scores.
