The men’s basketball team will enter the Sun-Belt Championship on Friday the way every team wants to: with momentum.
The Mavericks have won their last four games and eight of their last 10, even as they found their groove offensively after the loss of sophomore forward Kevin Hervey.
“I’m very pleased with what our team has accomplished this year after losing Kevin Hervey,” head coach Scott Cross said. “We’re starting to play great basketball again, and so I’m excited to go down to the tournament and see what we can do.”
The Mavs are the third seed in the tournament and will face the winner of the match-up between sixth seed Georgia State Panthers (16-13, 9-11) and seventh seed Texas State Bobcats (14-15, 8-12).
