Mavericks reflect on season with hopes for future

For the second consecutive season, the men’s basketball team recorded a program-high in wins, but fell short of making the NCAA Tournament.

The Mavericks’ (27-9) run ended in the National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals with an 80-76 loss to California State University, Bakersfield on March 22 at College Park Center.

Because more than 11,000 fans attended the final two home games, head coach Scott Cross said the future appears bright for UTA basketball.

“Fan support is at an all-time high,” he said. “We’ve been very, very blessed and fortunate that the media has given us so much exposure and spread the word about UT Arlington basketball.
