The volleyball team (9-5, 1-1) fell to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette 3-1 on Saturday at College Park Center to close out its first home stretch of Sun Belt Conference play.
On paper, the Ragin’ Cajuns didn’t dominate the match stats, but a combination of solid defense and clinical attack in the right moments helped them top the Mavericks.
Head coach J.T. Wenger said Louisiana-Lafayette has an incredible defensive side, and it frustrated the Mavericks’ attack.
He said he tried to mix up the matchups to try to create some momentum, but UTA’s offensive rhythm came and went throughout the match.
