A last-second 3-pointer led the women’s basketball team (4-0) to secure a 58-55 victory over Southern Methodist University on Sunday at College Park Center.
“That was a great win for us,” head coach Krista Gerlich said. “I had several people that stepped up. Obviously, we’re playing without Cierra [Johnson], and I think that’s always difficult to do when you don’t have one of your leaders with you. I thought our kids really held on together and they stayed unified.”
Senior guard Crystal Allen said the aggressive play the team showed on the court stemmed from their efforts in practice.
