The Movin' Mavs and the Lady Movin’ Mavs kicked off Homecoming weekend with the 2017 UTA Jim Hayes Memorial Tournament on Friday at the Maverick Activities Center.
The Lady Movin' Mavs went 2-0 against the University of Arizona and the University of Alabama.

Junior Abby Dunkin scored 14 points in the first and third quarters.
“[Arizona] is always a strong team. They have some great potential,” Dunkin said. “They’re always going to be a team we come against, but it feels good to come out with a win.
