The women's basketball team led for more than half of its game against Tulane in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament, but fell 62-53 Thursday in New Orleans, ending the Lady Mavericks' season.
"We came into halftime and felt we were doing pretty well," junior center Rebekah VanDijk said. "We came out of halftime and just didn't play our game. I think we can learn a lot about being tough and finishing games."
UTA's 22 wins in 2016-17 is a new program best and head coach Krista Gerlich said she recognized the Lady Mavericks' progress when she reflects on the season.
