The women’s basketball team (15-15, 10-10) will try to pull off the upset as the sixth seed playing against the third seed University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.
In their previous two games, the Ragin’ Cajuns beat the Lady Mavs, using a fourth quarter run to pull away each time. The Ragin’ Cajuns outscored the Lady Mavs 37-17 in the fourth quarter combined across both matchups.
“We have to have consistency throughout and we’ve got to be able to match what they bring us,” head coach Krista Gerlich said. “They probably really intensified their defense and just their pressure against us the last two times we played them and we’re going to have to handle that a lot better.
