UTA (13-12, 8-7) was able to secure its fifth win in its last six games with a 40-32 win over the University of Louisiana Monroe Warhawks (9-16, 3-13).
Both teams started relatively slow offensively, but the Warhawks made a run at the end of the first quarter to take an 11-10 lead going into the second.
The Lady Mavs had a strong finish to the second quarter tying the game at 21 before a shooting foul was called on senior forward Toma Zaleckaite with .6 seconds left to give the Warhawks two free throws and the lead at 23-21 heading into halftime.
