The women's basketball team (5-5) fell to 0-4 in the month of December after losing to The University of Arkansas 91-55 on Sunday at Bud Walton Arena.
Senior center Rebekah VanDijk led the Mavericks to an early jump, scoring eight of the teams' first 12 points. The Razorbacks responded with an 8-2 run and led 14-12 after the first quarter.
The Razorbacks took advantage in the second quarter off of a four-minute scoring drought by the Lady Mavericks to push their lead to 16. Senior guard Shelby Richards hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to make it 37-24 going into the second half.
