Avenging their away loss to Texas State University earlier this month, the Lady Mavericks (16-10, 10-4) took down the Bobcats 69-49 on Saturday at College Park Center.
In the second game of UTA basketball’s double-header showing of the day, the Lady Mavericks provided the arena with a win following the men’s basketball team’s 81-61 loss to Georgia Southern University earlier in the day.
Head coach Krista Gerlich said the team’s defensive game plan this game was on the team’s mind all week long, and they were out to set things right against their in-state rivals.
“[The previous loss to Texas State] hurt our hearts a lot,” Gerlich said.
