The women's basketball team (5-3) dropped its third straight game of the season, falling to the Kansas State University Wildcats 70-56 on Wednesday in Manhattan, Kansas.
The Lady Mavericks started the game strong on the defensive end, holding the Wildcats without a field goal for the first few minutes of the game. After the first, the Lady Mavericks led the Wildcats 14-12.
UTA scored the first four points of the second quarter. However, the Wildcats took control of the game with a 14-0 run in the second.
Kansas State opened the third quarter with a 14-5 run, extending its advantage to as many as 16 points.
