Qiana Canete, welcome to the club.
The junior outside hitter became the 11th player in UTA Volleyball history to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs on Oct. 25.
She ranks 16th in all-time kills (1,024) and 18th on the all-time digs list (1,183).
Canete is a dual threat; she leads the Mavericks with 295 kills and averages 2.84 per set. On the defensive end, her 368 digs are second only to freshman libero Taylor Murata.
“She’s probably our most dynamic athlete for sure, and she handles such a big load for us,” head coach Diane Seymour said.
