Late in a 108-71 win over the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Monday, College Park Center erupted when freshman forward Scott Muirhead poured in two 3-pointers.
But on the bench, the members of the men’s basketball team were leaping out of their seats for “Bill.”
Last season, alumnus Kennedy Eubanks nicknamed Muirhead “Bill,” and it’s still the name his teammates know him by.
“[Eubanks] was like, ‘Yeah, we just call him Bill, he kind of looks like a Bill,’” head coach Scott Cross said. “Bill just kind of stuck, and now I probably call him Bill 80 percent of the time.
