FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas was overpowered by Sporting Kansas City, who won decisively 3-0 away Sunday at Toyota Stadium. The match was highlighted by three penalty kicks and strong goalkeeping on both sides.
Sunday afternoon marked UTA Day at Toyota Stadium where students and alumni were provided with an on-field pre-match experience.
Heading into the penultimate matchday, FC Dallas led the Western Conference standings with 57 points, just one point ahead of second-place Sporting Kansas City.
The win for Kansas City means they leapfrog Dallas to claim the top spot in the Western conference standings with 59 points.
