Dallas Wings lose home game against Phoenix Mercury

Dallas Wings (4-4) returned home for a tough loss against Phoenix Mercury (8-3) 75-72 on Tuesday night at College Park Center.

“I thought we played relentless tonight without Liz [Cambage] for about 7-8 minutes left, and that’s tough,” head coach Fred Williams said. “My hat's off to this team. Phoenix pulled it out with free throws.”

Dallas maintained an eight-point lead over Phoenix at the end of the first, giving the team a boost heading into the second quarter. Phoenix scored the first opening points off a jump shot made by Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner, quickly followed with a three-point shot by Dallas Wings forward Kayla Thornton.
