The UTA cross-country teams travel to Texas A&M University on Saturday to compete in the inaugural Arturo Barrios Invitational.

The meet will see 28 teams, including schools from the Southeastern and Big 12 conferences, making the trip to College Station.

The men’s 8-kilometer race begins at 9 a.m. followed by the women’s 6-kilometer run at 9:45 a.m.

Head coach John Sauerhage said this final meet is a dress rehearsal for the Sun Belt Conference Championships. He said his runners are peaking at the right time to do well on Oct. 27.

“It takes us the whole season to get to where we're good,” he said.
