Cross-country runners finish season at NCAA Championship

Senior long-distance runner Craig Lautenslager ran the last 10K of his cross-country career Saturday, finishing with a time of 31:24.7 at 175th at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.

Junior long-distance runner Michael Guerrero finished 245th with a time of 33:09.5.

"Craig and Michael have played huge roles in putting our distance program on the national map," head coach John Sauerhage said to www.utamavs.com. "This was a special experience for them, and our program will look to build on this in the years to come."

While Lautenslager's cross-country career is over, Guerrero still has one season of eligibility left, and if he can match his performance in this year's Sun Belt Championship, he could return to nationals next year.
