Genuine, wise and kind.
Those were the words Krista Gerlich, women’s basketball head coach, used to describe Talby Justus.
“He’s just such a great father figure for our girls,” Gerlich said. “He definitely embraces all of that and treats the girls as his own.”
Over the 2018 offseason, Justus was promoted to the position of associate head coach after spending the previous five seasons as an assistant.
Justus joined Gerlich’s staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2013-14 season. He came to the program with many years of coaching experience, including a three-year stint as an assistant at New Mexico Junior College under head coach Drew Sanders.
