Baseball team knocks off No. 4 Texas Tech

A combination of timely hits and a solid bullpen outing led UTA Baseball (9-8) to a 5-1 upset win over No. 4 Texas Tech Tuesday at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

“We were really just looking for pitches we could drive,” sophomore infielder Noah Vaughan said. “Defensively, I mean, we knew our pitchers were gonna go out there and shove and do a good job, and we just wanted to back them up and play hard defense.”

The Mavericks pushed across three runs in the bottom of the second to take an early lead as Vaughan ripped a two-RBI double off the right field wall.
