This Friday, the men’s basketball team will face a familiar foe at College Park Center — Texas State University.
UTA and Texas State have faced off 73 times, with the Mavericks currently owning a 40-33 series record. The Mavericks came away with a 64-62 victory the last time both teams played in San Marcos on Jan. 25.
Head coach Chris Ogden said rivalries are what make sports great, and he considers UTA and Texas State rivals.
“Both teams have been in the same league for a while, dating back to the Southland Conference days,” Ogden said.
