Senior guard Crystal Allen transferred to UTA last season and became known as a 3-point specialist from the perimeter. But she is also known for her unique hairstyles.
The Fort Worth native, who set the UTA record for 3-point percentage last season at 46.9 percent, said she has been doing her own hair since middle school after watching her mom do hair. The process can take up to six hours, she said.
“Why go and pay somebody $300 to do something that you can do on your own, you know?” Allen said.
Allen said her favorite hairstyle is braids because they are easy to do and can be put up in a ponytail when desired.
