LOS ANGELES -- Matt Fink is USC's sandwich quarterback, caught between star sophomore Sam Darnold and highly touted freshman Jack Sears.
But Fink aspires to be more than a career backup and prove cynics wrong who wonder if he can move past No. 2 on the depth chart.
“Right now, I'm having a lot of fun,” Fink said Tuesday. “I actually know what I'm doing now. I came here to have fun and I'm finally having fun.”
Fink struggled last spring when he arrived as an early enrollee from Glendora High. But he looks more comfortable this spring and drew compliments after Tuesday's practice with a nice corner route pass to fellow redshirt freshman Tyler Vaughns.
