LOS ANGLES – Max Browne received his first college scholarship offer at Husky Stadium.
He was there in 2010, visiting Washington before he started his sophomore year at nearby Skyline High. Steve Sarkisian, then the Huskies’ coach, made his pitch to the local quarterback prospect.
Browne never committed there, instead matriculating to USC.
When he was named the Trojans’ starting quarterback after training camp in August, it appeared like the redshirt junior might at last return to play in front of a hometown crowd. It was on the calendar: USC at Washington on Nov. 12.
USC has not traveled there since 2012.
