USC vs. Cal 2017: Trojans open as favorites over Bears

Related Topics: California

The annual Northern California against Southern California rivalry game of USC vs. Cal will feature two teams with plenty of history.

Despite both squads boasting undefeated records, the Trojans enter the matchup with a sizable advantage in the Vegas odds. USC opened as a 17-point favorite, per Sports Book Review, while the consensus line currently sits at 16 points.

That line makes sense when you consider the Trojans rank No. 5 in the AP poll and own a 12-game winning streak over the Bears.

However, Cal has started the season unexpectedly strong with new head coach Justin Wilcox, winning close games against North Carolina, Weber State and Ole Miss.
