USC unveils plans for smaller Coliseum

USC unveiled plans for its $270 million renovation of the Coliseum on Thursday, which reduce the capacity of the stadium by more than 15,000 seats and require a one-time fee for the right to buy tickets for about one-third of the stadium.

Every seat would be replaced, more aisles would be added and more leg room would be added for some seats, according to plans submitted to the Coliseum Commission.

“We are committed to providing our players, coaches and fans with one of the best facilities in the nation,” USC athletic director Pat Haden said in a statement.
