USC tailback Ronald Jones discourages comparisons to Reggie Bush

USC freshman tailback Ronald Jones electrified Coliseum crowds in the Trojans’ first two games with his breakaway runs but he discouraged comparisons to former Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush.

Former USC quarterback Matt Leinart, now a TV analyst, said Jones “looked like Reggie out there” about Jones’ debut against Arkansas State when he broke a 44-yard touchdown run.

“I think it’s way too soon,” Jones said Wednesday. “I heard the Reggie Bush comparison. He’s the best, the greatest, in my opinion. It’s way too soon but it’s an honor to be mentioned with him.”

Jones, who is from McKinney, Texas, got homesick during training camp because he missed eating at his favorite place, Whataburger.
