The USC quarterbacks room is set to get a little less crowded. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Jack Sears has entered the transfer portal after being reduced to a fourth-string designation by head coach Clay Helton.
“The past week has been a difficult time, a bump in the road, and it makes me realize that life is not linear,” Sears penned in a lengthy statement released Tuesday afternoon on social media.
“In an effort to make a good, informed, and non-rushed decision, it is time for me to enter the portal. […] I will continue to train and work out and have told Coach Helton that I am available if the team needs me.
