USC interim defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon and former defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox were teammates at Oregon in the late 1990’s and then coached together since 2010 at Tennessee, Washington and USC.
They are synonymous with each other, especially in their native Pacific Northwest. So if anyone knows how Wilcox is doing since he was fired by USC coach Clay Helton two weeks ago, it would be Sirmon. But when asked this week, Sirmon was vague.
“We haven’t really talked too much about it,” Sirmon said. “I haven’t spoken (to him) to hear how he’s doing. I know he took some time off.
