The USC football defense will have quite a new look in 2019, and Jay Tufele could ensure that new look is a very positive change.
In recognition of his great potential as an explosive defensive lineman, Tufele was listed among the preseason candidates for the Bednarik Award in 2019 on Monday.

Tufele’s ability was clear in 2018 when he posted 23 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss in 12 games of action, including five starts. He also blocked a field goal to help seal USC’s victory over Washington State and returned a fumble for a touchdown in his home town of Salt Late City against Utah.
