Let me paint a picture for you, to better understand my views on new USC football offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.
My grandfather was a football coach in the Compton Unified School District who ran the Wing-T and preached “three yards in a cloud of dust.” My father was a Monrovia High School running back who always believed a good running game was the key to success. So, I was pretty much taught that the forward pass is for third-and-long and the two-minute drill.
With that context, you can only imagine my amazement and excitement that mid-October Saturday in 2002 when I first laid eyes on the Air Raid system.
