USC football: Studs and duds from the Trojans’ rout over Stanford

Saturday’s 45-20 beatdown of the Stanford Cardinal was an unexpected boon for Clay Helton’s USC football program. They did it was big-time production from a slew of playmakers on offense, including true freshman quarterback Kedon Slovis.

Kedon Slovis: What more could you have wanted from the true freshman in his first start? He turned a pristine performance, completing 84.8 percent of his passes for 377 yards and three touchdowns. In a Battle of the Backups, Slovis was the undisputed victor, highlighted by several dazzling throws, including a 39-yard touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St.
