Throughout the spring, head coach Clay Helton has placed more emphasis on competition, and practice has appeared strengthened because of it. But on Saturday, competition yielded a bit too much emotion during one 11-on-11 segment.
While blocking for Amon-Ra St. Brown on the outside, receiver Michael Pittman threw a defensive back to the ground. That defensive back, who appeared to be Briton Allen, took offense and the two got into a scuffle, with players from both sides jumping in the middle of it.
