How late is too late to determine your starting quarterback? That’s the question that has followed USC football into Fall Camp with a quarterback competition still undetermined.
Head coach Clay Helton said he is willing to use all 25 practices in the lead up to the season opener against Fresno State to let the competition play out.
However, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Graham Harrell explained on Tuesday after USC’s fourth practice of Fall Camp that he is planning to begin whittling down the competition well before that.
“I don’t think you can continue to get four guys reps all the way until [the start of the season],” Harrell said.
