USC football notebook: JuJu Smith-Schuster takes leadership role

USC sophomore JuJu Smith-Schuster is not only the Trojans’ go-to wide receiver, he is one of the most vocal leaders despite being in only his second training camp.

Smith-Schuster said he is not afraid to get on his teammates if they make mistakes because it hurts the team. For example, this week he chastised wide receiver Isaac Whitney for a dropped ball.

“I have to be on everybody,” Smith-Schuster said. “I can’t be nice about it. It’s going to affect me and everybody (if we make mistakes).”

One player likely to avoid a tongue-lashing is cornerback/wide receiver Adoree Jackson, who usually wows everyone with his talent during practices.
