Thanks to his trick play touchdown against UCLA, Michael Pittman was named the Special Teams Player of the Week in the Pac-12.

The sophomore’s role on the punt return team is as a gunner, but the Trojans pulled out some magic for the rivalry game.

While return man Ajene Harris and his blockers swerved to the right, acting as though the kick was going that direction, Pittman peeled off to where the ball was really flying. After catching it on the sideline, he went 72 yards down the field to secure the opening touchdown for the Trojans.
