The news is official, former USC Trojans TE Daniel Imatorbhebhe has transferred to Illinois.
Imatorbhebhe broke out in 2016, hauling in 17 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns after a redshirt year in 2015. He was one of Sam Darnold’s favorite red-zone targets that season and his best game certainly came against then No. 4 Washington where he hauled in five passes for 78 yards and one of his scores.
He hadn’t played since 2018 but will look to make an impact on an up-and-coming Illinois Fighting Illini team that returns longtime Big Ten QB Brandon Peters.
