UCLA's 13-9 upset of USC still stuns 10 years later

Really, 13-9?

In a game that played out so unevenly, the final score looked just as odd.

There is still no logical explanation as to how 10-1 USC, ranked No. 2 in the country and one step away from going to the Bowl Championship Series title game against Ohio State, managed to fumble that all way against a UCLA team with a backup quarterback, just trying to avoid a sub-.500 record in the Pac-10 and, as a program, unable to beat the Trojans since 1998.

But 10 years ago, it happened. And it remains a surreal reminder that no matter what the resume of each team may be coming in, the City Championship isn’t a given.
