UCLA men lose in soccer playoff game; USC, Loyola Marymount women also fall

The UCLA men's soccer team and the women's squads from USC and Loyola Marymount had their seasons come to an end Sunday in the NCAA College Cup playoffs.

UCLA, which played in the national championship game last season, fell to Seattle, 1-0, on Hamza Haddadi's goal in the 40th minute of a second-round game in Seattle.

The Bruins (11-9-1), outshot Seattle, 15-12, and forced Redhawk goalie Shane Haworth to make six saves.

But UCLA, the nation's second-highest scoring team during the regular season, couldn't find the back of the net.

The USC women fell, 2-0, to top-ranked Virginia in a third-round game in Charlottesville, Va.
